Randal G. B. Valenciano was sworn in as a Fifth Circuit judge in June, 2007. He is the Chief Judge and Administrative Judge of the Fifth Circuit (Kaua`i) and is also the Senior Family Court judge of the Fifth Circuit. Prior to his appointment, Judge Valenciano owned his own law firm, the Law Offices of Randal Valenciano. He was a deputy prosecuting attorney for the County of Kaua`i and was a deputy public defender for the State of Hawai`i prior to entering private practice. From 1990 to 2002, Judge Valenciano served on the Kaua`i County Council.

Judge Valenciano received his law degree from the University of Washington Law School and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.
